This richly detailed sculpture is signed "The Young Mother" "Bessie Potter Vonnoh 1896" and stamped "Roman Bronze Works NY."
A replica in resin, this statue was issued copyright 1982 by the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where the original is located.
Vonnoh was a very famous American sculptor, born in St. Louis in 1872 and died in 1955. She exhibited at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and has a sculpture in Central Park in New York City.
Measurements of this endearing American work of art are 6" wide, 8" deep and 7 1/2" tall.
