Hand hewn of solid elm logs, a set of steps or staircase was carved in Java to ascend to the upper level of a house raised on posts to protect from flooding.
Giant wrought iron spikes secure the uneven steps of this wonderful stairs. There is a very fine finish with warm golden patina.
About 75 years old, there are some losses at the base, see photos.
Functional for a loft, balcony or for display, overall length tip to tip is 10' 3" and width is 26."
At the angle shown in photos, the rise on the wall is 7' tall and it extends 7' 10" from the wall, adjustable up and down a little.
