Hand made in Scandinavia about 1830, a genuine rosewood chairside table or sewing stand has inlaid marquetry of a dancing couple in traditional dress.
The finish is in excellent condition. Silk pleated upholstery on the sewing hopper is worn, see photos. Natural bone handles on the compartment lids do not match exactly, there is a slight warp to the top, see photos. The center cover is birdseye or curly maple.
Measurements are 16 1/2" wide, 12" deep and 30" tall.
