Signed "Rouchouze a Bordeaux," this French Empire pillar clock dates from the 1820's. The hand crafted brass movement has been professionally cleaned, oiled and adjusted to keep excellent time for a week on a winding.
A silvery bell counts the hour and sounds the half. The signed porcelain dial has old restorations, see photos. Mahogany columns are shaped and have a very fine restored finish. Mounts are gold plated bronze, delicately hand burnished. The pendulum is original on this antique mantel timepiece from France.
Measurements are 11" wide, 7" deep and just under 19" tall.
