A presentation Victorian tilting water pitcher, stand and two goblets were made for the Schmidt Brewery family, dated "Jan. 6, 1888." This grand serving ensemble appears to have been replated in modern times, and the silver is in very fine condition throughout.
There is a three dimensional angel under the spout of this double wall "insulated" server. The pitcher and goblets are signed "Meriden" of Connecticut. There are two goblet rests, but only one goblet and a matching large cup that does not fit on the stand. Both have engraved bird motifs and "J. M. Andrus" in fine script. A removable pan is a drip catcher for condensation.
The pitcher has a dedication "Presented to Julius Schmidt, etc." with the date from an unknown organization in Wabasha, a town in Minnesota on the Mississippi River. The Schmidt Brewery operated in St. Paul from 1855-1990.
Overall dimensions are 16" across, 10" deep and 25" tall.
