A splendid French Empire pillar clock is genuine rosewood with inlaid satinwood marquetry, and dates from the 1830's. The hand crafted brass movement has been professionally cleaned, oiled and adjusted to keep excellent time for a week on a winding.
A silvery bell counts the hour and sounds the half. The dial is hand engraved. Mahogany columns are shaped. The excellent restored finish was hand rubbed to perfection. Mounts are gold plated "gilt" bronze, delicately hand burnished. The elaborate pendulum is original on this antique mantel timepiece from France.
Measurements are 11" wide, 6 1/2" deep and 20 1/2" tall.
