An exquisite genuine bronze sculpture from the Art Nouveau period in the early 1900's depicts a young woman with a dove, signed "Henri Ple."
Her flowing drape is beautiful, and the chocolate brown patina is in very fine condition on this statue from France. The "rouge" marble base has minor flakes on the bottom edge, see photos.
Henri Honore Ple lived 1853-1922, and was born and died in Paris. A student of the famous Moreau family of sculptors, he was first invited to exhibit at the Salon in Paris in 1877. The artist's works are in collections and museums across Europe.
Measurements of this lovely naturalistic statue are 11" across, 9" deep and 28" tall and weighs 36 lbs.
