This butcher's chopping block was carved of a single chunk from the trunk of a huge maple tree, also useful as a kitchen island or wine and cheese tasting table. There are losses and lots of wear for antique character. A rough slot was used to hold knives on this kitchen pantry furniture. About 100 years old, there is a wrought iron ring around the top.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on the base, the top is oiled for use. American made, this block is rugged.
Size is a little over 34" in diameter and 30" tall. The block itself is nearly 8" thick.
