A spyglass or four section telescope is signed "Ronchetti, Manchester," and dates from the early to mid 1800's. Three brass sections slide into a mahogany tube, which has wear and a carved monogram. A sliding cover protects the eye piece. This antique instrument was hand crafted in England and works very well at amazing distances.

In about 1842, he opened a chemical works in Clayton, Manchester, leaving his sons, John Baptist and Joshua, to take over the scientific instrument business, which they sold in 1851.
