A round tilt top table from England with a "birdcage" pedestal has many uses - tea, breakfast or lamp table. Hand carved of solid mahogany around 1800, there are various restorations and remarkable carved plugs over the centuries, see photos.
This Georgian period antique furniture is sturdy and very usable. There is a wrought iron "spider" reinforcement underneath and an old screw secures one leg, see photos. Removing a carved wood wedge releases the top.
The restored gleaming finish is in excellent condition, preserving some stains and mars for antique character as shown. There are shrinkage separations from age and hand planing marks.
Size is 33" diameter and 29 1/2" tall.
