A pair of pine cabinets or bookcases with stained glass panes was lavishly hand carved with griffin heads, floral and vine designs about 1890. Crafted for a country palazzo in Italy, the three dimensional artistry is amazing.
The old wax finish is very well preserved, and has been buffed so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are stains, shrinkage separations and mars for a little antique character. Doors have working locks on this historic furniture. Adjustable shelves rest on wooden supports.
Measurements are 31 1/2 wide, 16" deep and 6' tall.
