Item# 29613
Hand hewn of solid oak about 1790, this sideboard could also function as a wide TV console cabinet. Crafted in America by a cabinetmaker who would have been apprenticed in England, construction and design is traditional British but with pine drawers that are typically American.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this antique furniture, preserving shrinkage separations, stains, and mars from centuries of use. There are various restorations and small losses at the edges, see photos. Every surface is hand planed and hewn.
Raised shaped door panels are beautiful. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Brass pulls are 150 years old but not original. Doors have a later working lock and key.
Measurements are 56" wide, 20" deep and 44" tall.
