This opulent French bombe chest or commode has a marble top and was said to be from the railroad magnate, James J. Hill's Paris home, but there is no proof. Lavish inlaid marquetry includes genuine rosewood, tulipwood and satinwood.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this 1930's vintage furniture. Brass mounts and pulls are original. The rose marble has been polished and given a low luster protective finish.
Measurements are 47" wide, 22" deep and 33 1/2"
tall.
