A late Victorian or Eastlake period bedroom set from about 1885 includes a standard full or double size bed and a chest or dresser. Solid walnut with burl panels, this antique furniture is American made. Geometric moldings and fluting plus spoon or chip carving are characteristic of the era.
The bed includes wooden cross supports as shown, the demonstrator mattress and spring unit are 20" thick together. Measurements are 59" wide and 78" long, the headboard is 57" tall and the footboard is 30" tall.
The dresser has drawers with hand cut dovetail joints, and measures 40" wide, 18" deep and 37" tall.
