An authentic Russian "Samovar" or hot water tea kettle is solid brass with Cyrillic Russian inscriptions,the newest date stamped is "1870."
A hissing hot samovar was a sign of hospitality in every Russian novel, hot coals were placed in the center chimney to boil water for tea. This antique has a few dings for character and does hold water and has a working valve. The interior is crusty from lime in the water.
Measurements are 12" across, 13" deep and 20" tall.
