An authentic Russian "Samovar" or hot water tea kettle is solid brass with an engraved dedication to "Mother and Father, Thirtieth Anniversary 1925."
A hissing hot samovar was a sign of hospitality in every Russian novel, hot coals were placed in the center chimney to boil water for tea. This antique does hold water and has a working valve that dribbles a little. The interior has a traditional tin wash.
