This cast iron porcelain charcoal stove from about 1895 is signed, "Hella" model by "Deville Paillette, Charleville," France. Under the lift lid is a door to add charcoal to the fire. There is a lever to shake ashes into the catch pan below. The curved door has original mica windows.
Charleville is a beautiful town northeast of Paris, near the Belgian border.
There is a smoke vent on the back with and adjustable damper, but we have not tested this antique stove to see if it works properly.
Size is 18" wide, 16" deep including the handle and 27" tall.
