Crafted of solid walnut for a hunting lodge on an estate in Sweden about 1900, this stellar sideboard, server or bar cabinet has a top that flips up to a marble serving area. Hand carved oak leaves and hunting dogs are masterfully rendered. Hand wrought iron hardware and latches are original, spiral columns and detailing are exquisite.
The top has been revarnished for durability. The rest of the original finish is very well preserved, and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are shrinkage separations from age as shown.
There are just enough mars at the edges for a little antique character, see photos. Drawers have solid oak sides with hand cut dovetail joints. Side panels are raised on this antique furniture.
Dimensions are 53 1/2" wide, 22" deep and 42 1/2" tall.
