A Victorian period solid walnut dining table from the 1880's has a pedestal carved with sea serpents and six 12" wide leaves. There is a hidden center leg inside the pedestal for extra support when extended.
The restored rich finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Leaves have skirts or aprons but without the center groove design, see photos. The table opens and closes smoothly, the pedestal has been reglued to serve another generation.
Size is 43" wide, 29 1/2" tall, legroom is 25 1/2" and length when closed is 42," with all six leaves in place, length is 8' 6" overall.
