An authentic Russian "samovar" or traditional hot water tea kettle is solid brass with an engraved Cyrillic inscription, dating from around 1900. Richly embossed, there is a tin wash in the interior that is in very fine condition.
A center "chimney" was filled with hot coals to heat water for tea, this antique was a classic sign of hospitality in any Russian novel.
Size is 15" wide, 12" deep and 19" tall.
