A gentleman's beaver felt and silk "Top hat" from about 1890 has a worn label from the maker in St. James, London, "Made Expressly for Charles Meurisse & Company, Chicago," and the box is from "Cavanagh Hats, New York."
The hat is in very fine condition and has a removable cord for windy days. No hat size is marked on this antique.
Measurements are 9 1/2 x 12" and 6" tall, the head opening is 8 1/4" x 6." The round box measures 14" across and 7 1/2" tall.
