A palatial desk from about 1920 was hand carved in the Louis XIV manner of solid curly or birdseye maple in France. The tooled leather top has lots of stains and mars for antique character, see photos. Artistry is exquisite on this library furniture.
The original finish is very well preserved on this elegant European antique. Drawers have solid oak sides, hand cut dovetail joints and original embossed gilt bronze pulls. Exceptionally well machined locks work with a key.
Dimensions are 79" long, 39" deep, 30 1/2" tall and legroom is about 24" underneath.
