Empire Antique 1840 Austrian Mahogany Sleigh Bed or Day Bed #32444

This Empire period "sleigh bed" from about 1840 could also be a day bed. Hand crafted of mahogany in Austria, the matched flame grain panels are beautiful. A new upholstered platform or "bunky board" is includes as shown. The outside is richly paneled, the back side is finished but more plain, see photos.

The restored finish is in excellent condition on this antique European furniture. There are various shrinkage separations from age, see photos. This bed bolts securely together. The platform is 46" x 76" and 12" above the floor, so it needs a custom mattress, futon, foam mattress or whatever.

Measurements are 87" long, 50" wide and 42" tall.
