An authentic Russian "Samovar" or tea kettle is solid brass with Cyrillic Russian inscriptions, including a medallion stamped "1885." The interior has a tin wash, the valve dribbles a little.
A hissing hot samovar was a sign of hospitality in every Russian novel, hot coals were placed in the center chimney to boil water for tea. This antique has a few dings for antique character.
