Hand carved in solid chestnut about 1890, this architectural salvage crest was saved from a home in Brittany, in northwest France.
This sculpture in high relief depicts a seated man in traditional costume and wooden shoes. The original finish is very well preserved on this charming folk art fragment.
Size is 24" wide, 9 1/2" tall and 1 1/2" deep.
