Famous "bird's eye" grain maple has contrasting ebonized moldings and a gray marble top on this Victorian period pedestal, nightstand or bedside table.
The finish is very fine, with various touchups and repairs over the years plus beautiful antique patina. Shimmering natural grain is beautiful, with stunning contrast in satiny black. There are irregularities, warps and shrinkage separations, plus charming wear at the corners, see photos.
Three drawers have hand-cut dovetails, porcelain and brass pulls appear original.
Austrian furniture from the 1870's, this antique shows Biedermeier design influence. Measurements are 17" wide, 14" deep and 34 1/2" tall.
