Bombe Burl Antique Pair of Carved Nightstands

This elegant pair of nightstands or bedside tables has flowing and graceful lines. They are richly hand- carved at the edges with "bombe" or convex panels of walnut burl and marble tops.

This is dramatic and artistic Northern Italian villa furniture, crafted about 1910 with exquisite workmanship. The original satiny finish has been polished, it has wonderful warm golden brown patina and lots of antique character. Typical of intricate burl grain - there are tiny separations, bubbles and irregularities.

Brasses are original, drawers have hand cut dovetails and the shaped marble tops are excellent.

Measurements are 23" wide, 16" deep and 25" tall.
