Carved 1880 Antique Sideboard with Marble & Granite

Carved about 1880, this opulent sideboard or server has a black granite top and marble panels on the doors. The finish is in excellent condition with glowing warm antique patina and ebony accents, there are small mars at the edges and a loss to the left center drawer pull, see photos.

Doors have beveled "Nero Porturo" Italian marble inserts, the curved end doors with curving medallions are remarkable. Hand dovetailed drawers have solid oak sides, the end drawers swing out on pivot hinges.

Hand carved details include grapes, leaves and shells plus classical deep moldings. The polished granite top has minor rough spots on the edges, see photos.

Locks and keys work on this palatial furniture from France. Dimensions are 8' 3" wide, 21" deep and 42 1/2" tall.
