A classic solid quarter sawn oak library table or writing desk is authentic Arts and Crafts or Mission Oak furniture, signed by one of the five famous Stickley brothers, Charles.
An extra-thick top is tongue and grooved together and has a few shrinkage separations from age, lower mortise and tenon joints are exposed.
The rich deep finish is original on the base with a few mars and glowing patina, the top has been revarnished. Dovetailed drawers have original hammered pulls.
This is authentic well proportioned American furniture from the early 1900's. The signature in the right drawer is worn, it reads "Stickley and Brandt Chair Co., Binghamton, NY, Charles Stickley, Gen. Mgr." and dates this historic desk to 1909-1913.
Dimensions are 48" long, 30" deep, 30" tall and legroom is 23" high underneath.
