This solid cherry corner cabinet from about 1840 has wonderful old glass panes, some more wavy than others. We were told it is from Pennsylvania, but no provenance was given to us.
Entirely hand made, there are square nails and wooden pegs. The center drawer has hand cut dovetails and chamfered bottom. Grooves to display plates or platters were cut into the shelves.
The finish has warm antique patina and just enough mars for a little character. About 40 years ago, it was recoated with clear satiny lacquer that has a little "crazing" or crackling. Clean lines are beautifully proportioned.
Measurements are 55" across the widest part, 85 1/2" tall, and the sides are 41" deep from the corner of the room behind to the front tip of the crown.
