A charming group of domestic Chinese country porcelain was intended for home use about 1900. Sometimes called "farmer" china, each of these primitive porcelain dishes is hand made with traditional folk painting and rustic uneven glazing and texture.
The polychrome painting is sweet and rustic, variations in the form and the glazing show hand work. These pieces are not significantly chipped or cracked, but edges are rough. They are a similar but not matching collection of footed plates or bowls.
The smallest group are about 4 1/2" diameter, the medium just over 6" diameter, and the largest are about 7 1/2" diameter. Only the three large pieces have signatures from the late Qing dynasty, the others are unsigned, presumably intended only for the domestic market in China. We have no knowledge of lead content, etc., and are selling these dishes for decorative purposes only.
