This secretary desk with bookcase top is beautiful mahogany with a flame grain oval medallion on the dropfront. Feet are carved claw and ball Georgian or Chippendale style. Inside are drawers, cubbyholes, and a saddle leather writing surface on the drop front surface.
The original finish is in very good condition in a deep warm brown with rich patina. There is crazing, mars and wear as expected from a piece this age, see photos. Heavy brass hardware and glass panes are original.
This exceptionally well made English furniture dates from about 1915. Drawers have hand-cut dovetails, the gracefully arched top is lovely.
This antique desk is 38" wide, 18" deep and is 7'2" tall. Everything fits well and works smoothly.
