Sophisticated country furniture from about 1880, this secretary desk with bookcase top has wonderful warm antique patina. The very fine finish on solid walnut includes a few mars for a little character.
Pull out rests support the drop front, inside are cubicles and tiny drawers, the large drawer below is dovetailed. The upper bookcase is a separate piece for moving, original bookshelves are adjustable on wooden supports.
American crafted furniture. There is Eastlake influence visible in the incised carving on the base and geometric panels. Locks are working.
Measurements of this classic desk are 43" wide, 21" deep, 82 1/2" tall and the writing surface is 27" high.
