Authentic American Empire furniture from about 1840, a large center, hall or breakfast table expands with two leaves for a buffet or for dining.
The top and leaves are wide planks of richly figured solid mahogany. Original leaves have warps - see photos. The grand pedestal is matched flame grain. There are minor mars and shrinkage separations from age for character, see photos.
The silken finish is superb with warm antique patina.
When extended with two 21" wide leaves, there is a drop leg for extra support.
In 28 years, we have never seen another table like this.
When closed, this historic and multi-purpose table measures 61" long, 46" wide and 29 1/2" tall, legroom is 24" high. With both leaves in place, length is 8' 7" total.
