A wonderfully carved blanket chest or trunk has classic English Tudor motifs.
- English mid 1700s antique furniture with various restorations over the centuries as expected - see photos
- Dowry chest descended with daughters to move to their new marriage home
- Carved solid oak with spiral columns and floral motifs
- Old finish has been waxed and buffed, preserving mars, losses, & shrinkage separations from age. All that is needed to maintain the soft luster is an occasional wipe with a soft, dry cloth
- Interior covered compartment for valuables
- Patinated iron hardware is original with various repairs
- Drawer has working lock and key
