A "court cupboard" or dowry cabinet was hand carved in France about 1890 of solid walnut. Richly detailed with fluted columns and high relief panels, this antique furniture descended through a family's daughter.
The top of the base is revarnished for durability, the rest of the finish is original and very well preserved, and has been waxed and buffed so that an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is all that is needed to maintain its warm patina. Upper doors have replacement German hand made wavy glass panes. Shelves adjust on wooden supports. The center serving or display area has a gallery behind. Drawers have original hardware and hand cut dovetail joints.
This historic heirloom cabinet disassembles for easier moving. Measurements are 59" wide tip to tip, 23" deep, 95" tall and the base is 40" high.
