French Curved Glass Gold Hand-painted Curio Cabinet

All original, this French curved glass curio cabinet has paintings with the famous "Vernis Martin" finish of frosted bronzy gold on the base.

Deeply hand-carved in high relief in the elegant Roccocco or Louis XIV design, the genuine 14k gold leaf finish is dazzling. The full-inch thick marble top has an ogee shaped edge and is in excellent condition.

All glass windows are curved with wide shaped beveling. There is only slight wear and tiny losses to the original finish, also shrinkage separations due to age at the joints, see photos.

An authentic antique from about 1925, this is truly one of the best we have seen. Interior upholstering in crushed velvet appears original. Shelves are adjustable on bronze standards. The lock does not work.
