Hotel Mail Stand Up Stool Height Desk, 1900 Antique 9' Long

This wonderful stool height or stand up desk was said to have been custom made for a 30 room hotel in St. Paul MN about 1900, there are 30 angled mailboxes along the top.

It was used against the wall behind the check in counter. A lip at the bottom of the slanted desk held ledgers and paperwork. Walnut wood has a gleaming finish in superb condition. Original rosy cast solid bronze hardware includes a "bar rail" footrest, latches and feet, designed to protect the legs in the days when floor were mopped. Three large drawers are dovetailed, one has a mail slot for letters or bills.

This remarkable American made antique furniture does not disassemble, so delivery should be carefully planned. Measurements are 106 1/2" wide, 25" deep, 60" tall and the slant top angles from 41 1/2" high at the front to 46" high at the back. The knee hole is 36" wide and 32" tall.
