An imposing 1890 era hall bench or settee was hand carved of solid fine grained oak, signed by famous maker, "Karpen Brothers of Chicago and NY."
There is a new upholstered cushion.
Artistic carving is in three dimensional high relief in the Renaissance manner.
The finish is in very fine condition with warm antique patina. Dramatic lines are bold on the marvelously detailed frame. The frame is strong and durable on this grand antique furniture, made in America.
Size is 71" wide, 32" deep, 56" tall and the seat is 21" high.
