Lap or Travel Desk, Writing Box Walnut 1880 Antique

Crafted of solid walnut about 1880, this Victorian period writing box, lap or travel desk was the laptop of its day.
The old finish is very well preserved with a few mars and losses for antique character. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain its warm luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. The lock and key work, inside is a velvet covered slanted writing surface.
American made, two cut glass inkwells have brass covers, one more has a loose fitting glass stopper. There is a compartment for pens plus paper storage underneath.
Size is 14" wide, 9" deep and 4 1/2" tall.
