A graceful oval shape defines this solid mahogany dropleaf breakfast or sofa table, hand-crafted in England about 1870. Brass feet tips and wheels are original.
The gleaming finish is excellent on beautifully figured mahogany with warm antique patina and just enough character - mars and wear - at the edges, see photos.
Dropleaves are cut from remarkable matched single planks almost 22" wide. Useful as a serving table for dessert or a buffet, this is strong and sturdy furniture. Both dropleaves rest firmly on large carved wooden hinges.
Dimensions with both leaves down are 46 1/2" long, 10 1/2" wide and 27" tall, with both raised in position, size is 53" long and 46 1/2" wide.
