Mahogany Vintage Long Case Grandfather Clock, Carved Angel, Nut & Fruit Motifs

Richly hand carved of solid mahogany about 60 years ago, this custom made long case or grandfather clock has a brass movement that has been professionally cleaned and oiled to keep accurate time.

The case finish has been renewed, flattering the three dimensional sculptural detail with angels, fruits, nuts and floral designs. Locks and keys work. Wound with pull chains, a deep gong sounds the half hour and counts the hour. The movement runs for a week on a winding. The dial is hand painted with raised gold enamel. There is no signature on this custom made vintage time piece.

Measurements are 19" wide, 6' 6" tall and 12" deep.

This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
