This aristocratic dowry trunk or blanket chest or trunk has stunning marquetry with flowers, vases and birds, and was also called a marriage chest and would have descended with the daughter of a wealthy family.
- German antique furniture signed & dated "Becke Krogers 1828"
- Hand carved of quarter sawn oak, walnut, maple & rosewood
- Old varnish has been cleaned and preserved with a coat of clear finish
- Mars, losses & shrinkage separations from age - see photos
- Patinated wrought iron hardware is original
- Missing lock
- Base is later
