Marquetry Marble Top Bombe Chest, Bronze Mounts

This authentic European commode, dresser or two drawer chest has a shaped marble top. The gracefully curved "bombe" or convex sides and front have artistically inlaid marquetry of mahogany, rosewood and satinwood. Lavish heavy bronze mounts and pulls are gold plated - original from about 60 years ago.

Richly grained salmon marble is in excellent condition, there is a small repair at the right rear corner. The polished original finish is excellent with very little wear and wonderful warm patina, enhancing the dramatic shimmering wood grain. We never say anything is perfect, but this spectacular vintage chest is close.

Hand crafted about 50 years ago, dimensions are 5' wide, 23" deep and 34 1/2" tall. Carved Gold Mantel, Bath or Wall Mirror in final photo is offered separately.
