A magnificent Arts and Crafts period backbar or combination sideboard and double curio cabinet is solid quarter-sawn oak with curved and leaded glass. Bronze pulls, keys and locks plus mirrors are all original from about 1900.
This remarkable furniture was said to have been custom made for one of the founding families of the Kimberly Clark paper company in Neenah, Wisconsin.
The deep lustrous finish is excellent with just enough patina to show its age. There is some "smoke" to the mirrors, including the large central beveled mirror, which has a narrow gallery above. We see no damage to the curved leaded glass windows or to the old wavy curved glass panes in the curio cabinets at both ends.
When electricity was installed in the original mansion, porcelain light sockets were installed behind the leaded glass doors, they are no longer wired. There are mars and wear on the interior floor.
This substantial antique does not disassemble, it is a four-man delivery. Measurements of this historic cabinet are 12' 1" long, 27" deep, 5' 1 1/2" tall and the curved top in the center is 37" above the floor.
