Signed by famous maker, "Howard Miller of Zeeland, MI," about 25 years ago, a long case or grandfather clock is all original and in beautiful condition.
The oak case is accented with panels of elm burl, the finish is in extremely find condition. Beveled glass panes and polished lacquered brass mounts are authentic. The brass movement runs a week on a winding, and plays the familiar Westminster chime on each quarter hour, and counts the hour as well. A lever chooses other tunes or silent. The filigree dial is exquisite on this American made vintage clock.
Size is 22 1/2" wide, 13" deep and 78 1/2" tall.
This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
