Crafted of solid oak in the 1920's for a Chicago architect's office, this map chest, blue print or document file has 8 wide large drawers plus two narrower ones. Two stacking paneled banks of drawers fit neatly together. The signature is famous maker, "Hamilton" of Two Rivers, Wis.
Drawers have embossed cast iron bin pulls. The deep brown finish is excellent on this rugged American made vintage file cabinet. Base and top are rebuilt. Finger holes allow pushing up drawings to protect their corners.
Measurements are 42" wide, 29" deep and 35 1/2" tall. Wide drawer interior size is 37 1/2" wide, 25" front to back and 2" deep, some have dividers which could be removed.
