Pine 1850's Antique Immigrant Trunk Blanket Chest, Original Lock

An "immigrant trunk" from northern Europe was hand hewn of pine by an expert country carpenter.
Hand cut dovetail joints, wooden pegs, wrought iron hardware and the large working lock are all authentic, it is a 1 1/2 throw lock that can be tricky.
The original hand painted "grained" finish is well worn and preserved with a coat of clear varnish on this European antique furniture. There is a large shrinkage separation across the top, see photos.
Dimensions are 40" wide, 20" deep and 20" tall.
