Signed by America's most famous maker, "Regina," this 1890's music box is in superb playing condition, and has been serviced and oiled. The double comb mechanism is intact and six 15 1/2" metal record discs are included. Tone is resonant and rich, the stop lever allows a stop at the end of a tune or repeat playing.
Solid mahogany, the case is richly carved in high relief with an angel motif playing harps and trumpets. The restored finish is in excellent condition on this antique music box. Under the lid is the trademark lithograph with a few stains, copyright 1896.
This wonderful box was originally sold by "A. Wolff on Union Square, NYC."
Original antique discs included are Sidewalks of NY, The Last Chord, The Last Rose of Summer, El Capitan March by Sousa, Comin' Thru the Rye and Blue Bells of Scotland, more are available, sold separately.
Dimensions are 21" x 19" excluding the removable crank and 12" tall.
