This Classical Renaissance oak bookcase or china cabinet is in wonderful condition. Spiral columns and deep moldings distinguish this imposing antique furniture dating from about 1890.
The hand carved music and arts motifs on each door are exquisite, the top has a elliptical carving, and in the center of the pediment there is a stylized sphere.
The original finish has the usual mars and wear with very warm patina - see photos. Inside are adjustable shelves, on wooden supports, the drawer is hand dove tailed.
Expertly hand carved in northern France, this distinguished cabinet is stately and measures 57" wide, 21" deep and 95" tall.
